The Scandinavian winter climate is quite rough and cold, and I am happy to present the Altieri casecovers from Denver, Colorado. They are fitted on the outside your existing violin/viola case and provide excellent protection against wind, snow and low temperatures.
The case covers are made in five versions:
Violin shaped/contoured , weight 1100 gram
Violin rectangular, weight 1240 gram
The case cover consists of 5 different layers:
1. Outer shell of Nylon Packcloth
2. Moisture vapor barrier
3. Heat/Cold Reflecting MYLAR—the material of a space blanket.
4. Dacron batting for cushioning
5. Thermal ultrasuede lining on the top, inside layer
A test I carried out in wintertime, shows a clear advantage with the use of a case cover: when the outside temperature was -10 ° Celcius, after 30 minutes the inside temperature of the case was:
- 2 ° Celsius without
+ 11 ° Celcius with case cover
Prior to the test the case was stored at +20 degrees Celcius. The test was carried out with a BAM Hightech 2011XL. The price for viola/violin case cover De Luxe model is NOK 2.900,- including VAT 25%, delivered from my workshop. The case cover can be shipped to all Scandinavian countries. The colour is black.
The Altieri case cover can be carried back pack style
